International Quilt Festival’s Quilt Show
Quilts, Inc. recently hosted the International Quilt Festival in Houston, TX. The event includes a fantastic display of quilts not to be missed. However, if you did miss this event and display, you’re in luck.
Ena Hitt, a member of our Yahoo Lazy Girl group, attended the show and put together a nice photo album of some of the quilts. Ena gave me the ‘okay’ to share her album with you. Thanks Ena!
Ena, who attended the show for two days, had a hard time picking a favorite. Ena told me that she has made a few mariner’s compass quilts and knows how much work goes into them and so she favors that design.
After looking through Ena’s album, I too had a hard time picking a favorite, too – they were all wonderful. However, one quilt in particular took my breath away. I was completely impressed with the ‘Eternal Flower Basket’ by Michiko Takakuwa of Tokyo, Japan. Michiko hand pieced more than 160,000 tiny hexagons to make this quilt. Wow, wow, and wow!
View Ena’s entire photo album here.
Thanks again to Ena for putting this album together and sharing with us.
