News: Candice Pattern is Coming!

Lazies, There’s a new Girl in the works and her name is Candice! I’ve had a crazy-busy week and an even busier weekend, so I don’t have anything to show you yet about Candice. I know – I apologize. Next week, I promise!

What I can tell you is that Candice is a tech tote. I’ve designed a new pocket technique, perfect for a tablet or eReader. I’ve affectionately nick-named them ‘fat pockets’. These fat pockets are dimensional without a gusset, pleat, or complicated construction. Ingeniously easy, they are pretty cool and I think you’ll love them.

Not only do the fat pockets hold thick things well, they allow the weight of the contents to rest at the bottom of the pocket without dragging the lining down or creating a pucker in the pocket. It’s pocket nirvana.

Best of all, once you have the fat pocket technique in your toolbox, you can use it for pockets on any of our bags.

Candi has a zip top. We’ve used the wildly popular Margo zipper, with a slight twist to make it even easier.

Candice is a bit taller/deeper/wider/bigger than Margo. She has a fantastic hold-everything front pocket which is as easy to use as the front pocket on a pair of jeans.  Candi uses the size A Bag-E-Bottom, same as the Gracie Handbag and Whimsy Bag.

There are a couple more new elements for us to talk about before our new Girl arrives. I expect her here around November 1st. Of course I’ll keep you posted. And I will have pics next week.

Some quilt shops will be taking pre-orders, but I haven’t even given them product details yet so they can’t really take orders yet. I’ll keep you posted on this, too.

Candi and I have been hitting the town, running errands, traveling, and getting to know each other. I must say, I love this bag. Whether she’s holding my iPad or corraling the paper clutter of my day, she seems to be a good fit for my life.

More soon,
Joan
