The Gracie Handbag is one of our easiest designs and it’s a great first project if you’d like to try your hand at making a bag.
This feature is one that I taped a couple for the pilot series ‘Quilters ToolBox’. It’s a nice overview of Gracie and then we share some details and embellishment ideas.

I loved the Gracie Handbag Pattern, I’m hoping to pick up some at the Trend Show next week.

I know you say not to use directional prints, but this bag is a wonderful use of those beautiful directionals. I did an angel bag for Christmas time. I just pieced the fabric together in opposite directions at what would be the bottom, leaving it a little larger than I needed for the bag, and cut it out accordingly. You give similar instructions on your Whimsy Bag pattern.
