I’m so lazy I bring my early-rising daughter to be with me and turn on Sesame Street at 6am when she wakes up so I can get another hour of sleep before the other one wakes up!

I am so Lazy I want my sewing machine to be able to read patterns and sew them out for me. But in the mean time I am teaching my daughter how to sew so I watch while she sews.

One way to relax and get things made.

I’m so lazy that I want to make stuff all day!

I’m so Lazy that I finished my second Lazy Girl Towne Bag this weekend. I made one for my daughter in a class with Didi Salvatori and then immediately cut out a second one and finished it for one of my sister in laws and I have 2 more to make. I just love it, and when I was at the quilt shop after class I picked up 2 more Lazy Girl patterns to make. I’ll post pictures on facebook when I get the buttons on the bags. I had so much fun, these Maggies look like great fun too. I need more Lazy ways to create!!

I’m so Lazy…..that I’ve rearranged my whole craft room so that I can sew, iron, cut and access the web by a wheeled chair! I can now scoot around the room and not have to stand up!
(of course, I’ll be on crutches for the next few months, so HAD to do something!)

I’m so lazy, I let my cats do all of my fabric cutting for me! (They don’t even do a good job!)

I’m so Lazy… I just dream about all the wonderful Lazy girl projects I’ve made and gave away. Mind you- I haven’t made any yet, but in my mind- ahhh I’m sewing these up continuously.

I’m so lazy..maybe I’ll get my gratitude gifts started. Last year I was diagnosed with breast cancer and found out just how many precious friends I truly have..the ones who are really there when you need them the most. The ones that expect nothing in return and deserve everything I could ever do for them. As I recover (cancer is gone and now comes the rebuilding phase, thank God) I can return to my love of sewing. I want to make Maggie and tuck in notes of heartfelt gratitude for the ones to did so much to keep me moving forward when I couldn’t see the future for the present. They may fit cameras and phones but I see them as holding dreams and hopes and thanks from my heart and showing them what my words don’t always convey. They gave me the ability to be able to believe that I could sew again and now I can show them in a tangible way just how precious they are to me when words fail me. Chosen or not, Maggie will be the vehicle for gifting these blessings for giving me their heart when I need them most. Joan, your talents also offer more encouragement than you realize..keep it up. I’m so lazy, I’d love to have a pattern to make some small gifts for all the kind friends in my life. These look like they’d be great to stick a gift card into too, for those especially special friends.

I’m so lazy (and clever) that I let my husband do all the cooking so that I can sew for an hour before dinner every evening.

I am so lazy, I buy kits wherever possible for my projects so I don’t have to get in the car, make the effort to choose my fabrics and stand in line to pay for my choices. So many benefits from that…it’s greener, it uses up my stash so I can get more fabric, it takes less time and energy to “wrap” my gifts, and… it fulfills my need to sew bags!

I am so lazy I am sitting here reading all of these great posts. I love all of your designs Joan. I have made so many wonder wallets I have lost count. I just made many and gave them as door prizes at our Craft Club function. Even the men liked them. For the men I used a golf theme fabric. I even raved about the pattern to a Gal at the local sewing center, she bought the pattern on the spot. She is lucky if she displays what she makes with the pattern. She gets the pattern for free.

I’m so lazy that I have cobbled together my sewing machine, laptop and coffeepot and they all now have solar batteries. They are floating on a rubber raft in my pool, my phone is in a special waterproof pocket in my bathing suit, and I have a floating “goddess” chair that floats next to the rubber raft “desk” I can be cool, sew, write, drink coffee, and exercise all in one place. Oh and of course siesta is uninterrupted as I float around.

I am so lazy…. that winning a new kit would be a perfect gift for my mom. She has had a challenging year, fell and had compression fracture in her back, hadn’t healed from surgery for that when they found breast cancer. She is doing great now but still has to be my dad’s arms and legs as he has severe emphysema. But through it all she sits at her sewing machine and turns out beautiful quilts, purses and donates to charities. Hope I can be half the women she is.

I am so lazy I never rethread my machine. I just snip the thread at the spool and tie on the next spool. Then I just put it all the way through the machine and I am ready to go. keep it simple.

This definition of lazy applies to me: moving slowly and gently. Being lazy is actually a learned skill. If more people were lazy; i.e., moving slowly and gently, there would probably be less chaos in the world and we would be more aware of others. Slow down and smell the roses is a very good maxim for a lazy person for me to follow. My creativity is nurtured in my lazy approach to life as my awareness of life around me is heightened. I’m so lazy …i get my 18month old to help me ‘frog’ knitting and crochet project gone wrong – she loves it!

(We already delivered 396 quilts to the VA Hospitals so far this year and have another batch to go before year-end).

I am so lazy that I had eye and eyebrow tatoos so that I don’t have to put on makeup. When I get out of the shower, the pool or wake up in the morning, I already look made up. It also saves me from eyeliner and eyebrow pencil. In the long run I saved myself some $. As you get older the tatoo somewhat fades and it won’t look so bad when I get into the 60s.

I’m so lazy that I’ve trained my dog to fetch me the remote, now if I can only get him to change the channels! LOL

I am just getting back into sewing, this looks like a super cool project I can figure out after over 23 years of not sewing. Something I want to take back in my out of control life, and help me destress. Thank you. YOU have such wonderful ideas.
