[...] Several days ago, I started to post about the Color My World quilt, by Allison Quilt Designs. (I like the whopper-jawed log cabin quilt background on her website. I’m especially fond of whopper-jawed designs.) I can look at that quilt (the Color My World one) for a long time, the way one looks at fine art. I keep going back to it. It translates easily into needlework, and I have a particular use in mind for a needlework interpretation of that quilt. What do you needleworkers see when you look at it? I wonder if what I see is as obvious to other needleworkers. I have to believe it is. [...]

I love this quilt! I've crocheted granny squares, but now I might be willing to try sewing them. I've never quilted before, but this design has moved me in that direction! Keep it up!

Lori, you said something about the fabric colors mixing like popsicles, but my first thought was jellybeans--and you included the licorice! So many of the DayZ Dozen projects have featured those wonderful daisy images, but your quilt really demonstrates how this LakeHouse line offers a fantastic variety of colors and patterns for creating a really interesting quilt from small pieces. Love your quilt, love your writing style.

I love this! So much fun to check in on this daily Day Z Dozen Hop My head is even more jumbled with ideas now! I am thinking KITS sound like a good idea these days to keep the ideas contained and focused (for those of us with right brain-left brain confusion!) I should go check out my stash of fun fabrics I know are buried in my sewing room somewhere, and get busy...this is just charming and fun. And I grew up with those black-background granny square afghans made by my mother as she recovered from her five deliveries (as they allowed in those days!) Maybe that is why I love the way a black background makes the colors pop. I am hoping you can continue these daily doses of quality inspiration forever, rather than just quitting after a dozen...

I loved the idea of doing just one square at a time to make the quilt. Many times I think I dont have time to devote to a quilt but a few minutes here and there are just fine. Thanks for that kind of a project. I loved the black background to "Pop" the design.

Hello Lori,

What a beautiful quilt! WOW! The way you have broken down this complicated-looking design in to easy strip sets is fantastic and very do-able!!! I LOVE the way you incorporated all of the colorways in this stunning LakeHouse fabrics collection resulting in a vivid and striking updated version of the traditional "Album Patch" quilt!!! Thank you for sharing this beautiful quilt with all of us :)
