I have had a pair of Gingher shears for years. How do the Clover Ultimate Scissors EX-170 compare? My Ginghers are sharp, but the blades have never 'met' well (i.e. I can hold them up to the light and look between the blades when the scissors are closed) which tends to do things like 'bend' flannel. not good.

Before I saw your light, I mounted one of the lights made for reading a book. It is also bendable; attachable with velcro circle and moveable from machine to machine, battery is replaceable. Works fine for now. I'd rather spend my money on patterns, fabric or the new scizzors.

Thanks for the tips...I have officially started my Christmas list. I have a scissors fetish, I guess, just love them and usually walk around with a pair attached to my "Long-armed and Dangerous" work apron. I guess the neighbors are used to seeing me with scissors dangling when I walk to the mailbox. The light looks like it will work better than the table-stand Ott light I use at my domestic sewing machine, and I am thinking it would be a good addition to the Gammill as well.

I've gotta get that light!! I've got a halogen that I've been trying to use, but it's too big and get in the way and then it heats up gets makes my face hot (because I put it soo close to the machine). I've tried shining it from the back but I don't get the same light. This is definitely the trick!!!

I bought the light at a shop hop in June and absolutely love it. I was actually looking for an Ott light but wasn't too keen on adjusting for the stand. This was cheaper and puts the light exactly where I want it. I ran the cord clips across the back of my machine so they are out of the way.

It was the best thing I found on that shop hop... I can't sew anymore without it...

I have the light and just love it. I have a smaller pair of the Clover scissors and they are perfect for machine-side trimming. I guess I'll need to add the larger ones to my scissor collection as well.

The Scissors look wonderful, do you know if they work for lefties too, or is the handle contoured for the right hand? I just couldn't tell from the picture.

Thanks
